Olga Karpman: I don't know when exactly it happened, but there was a moment when I looked at my life and nothing was wrong. Everything actually looked pretty, pretty good, and still, something inside of me said, "This is not me anymore." And the strangest part was nothing had fallen apart. I still had my business, my family, my life.
Olga Karpman: Everything I had built over the years, it was still there. But internally, it felt like something moved and didn't come back the same, and I couldn't explain it, not to anyone, and of course, not even to myself. Because how do you explain that your life still works, but it no longer feels true?
Olga Karpman: If you've ever felt that, stay with me. Before we go deeper, just know this: what you're feeling is not random. There are stages to this, and this moment when you don't feel like yourself anymore is one of them
Olga Karpman: Welcome to Unmasked. I'm Olga Karpman. This is the show about what lies beneath.
Olga Karpman: Welcome back. I'm really glad you're here, and if you're new to this, I'm Olga Karpman, and you can learn more about me and the story behind this show in the very first episode. But for now, I'm really, really happy you found us. Feel at home here, and I'm sure our connection will unfold over time. You see, Unmasked, it's not just another show.
Olga Karpman: This is a space where we look beneath the surface, beyond the roles, beyond the identities, beyond the masks that, if we're honest, we all wear from time to time And before we go deeper today, I want to say this: If what we are talking about feels close to you, or maybe someone you love is going through something like this, stay with us.
Olga Karpman: Stay with the series because what we're opening here, it's not just one conversation, it's a process, and sometimes a long one, and it can feel very, very lonely. But hearing things in the right moment, in the right sequence from people who have been through this can change the way you understand your own experience.
Olga Karpman: And if this resonates, follow the show so you don't miss what comes next. And if you feel called, leave us your review. It really helps this space reach people who might need it right now. Thank you so much. And now let's go into this. There is a moment in life that almost no one talks about when nothing is broken and still something doesn't feel right.
Olga Karpman: Your life still works. You still show up. You still do what needs to be done. At the same time, there is this quiet distance between you and your own life, as if you're slightly outside of it. Can you relate? And you're trying to understand all of this. You even tell yourself, "Maybe I'm just tired. Hmm, maybe I need a break.
Olga Karpman: Maybe I need something new, new job, new business, new relationship, new car. Maybe I just need to push a little harder each day." But the more you try to return to how you used to feel, the more you push, the clearer it becomes, something has already changed And that's the part most people try to skip because it's very uncomfortable, because it doesn't give any answers, because it doesn't tell you what to do next.
Olga Karpman: This is the space in between. Not who you were and not yet who you're becoming. It's the space between your old identity and your new one. It's like wearing clothes that don't fit anymore, but you haven't chosen new ones yet. You're trying to make it work, but for some reason it feels very awkward, tight, uncomfortable, and honestly, not like you anymore I've been there.
Olga Karpman: For years, I was building something that became huge part of who I was, a business, community, life that grew step by step for many, many years. I poured my heart and soul into it. I built it, I pushed. It carried me through so much. It had meaning. It helped thousands of people, and at the same time, my life looked so beautiful: family, world traveling, everything falling into place the way it was supposed to.
Olga Karpman: Nothing was wrong, and still, something inside me became very quiet and very clear. This part is complete. Not broken, not failing, just complete, and I knew it. I knew it from the bottom of my heart, but I didn't want to see it because how do you let go of something that was part of your life for 13 years?
Olga Karpman: Something that shaped you, that became your identity? Maybe you can relate to that, maybe not, but maybe you felt it once with your health, or your relationships, or your work, or your business, something that once felt right. So what do we do at that moment? Of course, we try to keep going. We try to fix things.
Olga Karpman: We try to do better, and that's exactly what I did. I tried to do better. I tried to tell myself, "Hey, I just need a break." That quiet voice in me that, "It will just stop. It doesn't matter. It's just a phase. I just need a vacation." Or maybe if you experienced that in your relationship, you try to be better partner, better parent, better leader, better version of yourself.
Olga Karpman: I did exactly the same. I tried to continue. I tried to recreate. I even started something new, and from the outside, it even worked. I had new clients, great results, growth. Everything looked right again, but inside, nothing moved. No connection to this something new, no energy, no feeling that this was mine anymore I didn't feel like I owned this life.
Olga Karpman: I felt like life owned me, and it was too tight, and it was when it became impossible to ignore. It was so uncomfortable. At that point, I realized it's not about what works in life. It's not about what looks good. It's definitely not what looks good to others. It's all about what's true, and only what's true for you Because once you feel the life that's true to you, you can't unfeel it.
Olga Karpman: So I pushed myself to close that chapter slowly, carefully, with respect, and then I stepped into something I had never, ever experienced before: nothing. No structure, no identity to hold onto, no clear direction, nothing, just space. And that was the hardest part, because when there is nothing to distract you, no clients to take care of, no business to run, just daily awesome life and plenty of time for yourself, when you have that, you start seeing yourself more honestly, not through illusion, but just how you are And then emotions start showing up without any reason.
Olga Karpman: You wake up at night, you feel something is moving inside you, but you don't have words for it, and you can't go back. That version of you does not exist the same way anymore, and this is where it becomes very real because this phase doesn't look like growth at all. It can look like confusion. It doesn't have energy.
Olga Karpman: Opposite, it has low energy. It has disconnection, not wanting to do anything, to be with anyone, pulling away from things that once mattered, and at the same time, life goes on. You might still have responsibilities, family, work, bills to pay. You look like you're functioning, but inside, you know something has shifted, and you start asking yourself, "What's wrong with me?
Olga Karpman: How can I go back?" But the truth is, you're not meant to go back, not because something was wrong before, but because something has already completed itself inside of you. Like a caterpillar before it becomes a butterfly, there is a moment where everything dissolves before something new is formed, and that space feels very, very uncomfortable, very quiet, and very undefined.
Olga Karpman: It's that undefined space in between But space is not emptiness. Space is where something new begins. Even if you don't see it yet, even if it feels painful, it's happening. So if you're here right now in that space feeling like you don't recognize yourself anymore, feeling like something shifted and you don't know what comes next, there is nothing wrong with you.
Olga Karpman: You're not broken. You are in transition, and you're not alone. And maybe, just maybe, the most important thing is this: you don't need to rush back. You don't need to fix anything. You don't need to become someone new overnight. What if for a moment you just stayed? Not trying to solve anything, not trying to push forward or fight harder, just stay.
Olga Karpman: Just noticing where does your life no longer feels true Let it sink. Where does your life no longer feels true? What feels complete? Even if it still looks good, especially it looks good to others Where are you trying to go back? Where are you trying to hold on? Maybe where it's time to let go and instead allowing yourself to move forward
Olga Karpman: Look, you don't need all the answers right now Just start there. Just let those questions sink in. Sometimes that's all you need, and if you wanna take step further, you can answer those questions. Not for me, not for anyone, just for yourself And if you'd like to go through this process with my guidance, make sure to click the next episode.
Olga Karpman: I dedicated it specifically to this process where you, your headsets, your space, and my voice can take you deeper to your own awareness and truth And if something in this episode felt close to you, to your heart, to your soul, to your spirit, stay with this series of Unmasked.
