About Olga

There’s a moment in many lives when the
mask we’ve been wearing begins to feel too
small. The roles that once seemed to define
us — success, identity, expectations — start
to loosen, revealing something deeper
beneath the surface.

Sometimes it happens quietly. Sometimes it
happens after years of building a life that
looks successful from the outside, but begins
to feel different on the inside.

About Olga

There’s a moment in many lives when the mask we’ve been wearing begins to feel too small. The roles that once seemed to define us — success, identity, expectations — start to loosen, revealing something deeper beneath the surface.

Sometimes it happens quietly. Sometimes it happens after years of building a life that looks successful from the outside, but begins to feel different on the inside.

This story is, in many ways,
about that moment.

Olga Karpman was born in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, when it
was still part of the Soviet Union — a country largely
closed off from the rest of the world. Growing up there
meant living far from the global conversations that shape
culture, business, and ideas today. The outside world
existed mostly through books, imagination, and the
occasional glimpse of something foreign.

At twenty-one, Olga left that world behind. She moved
to Los Angeles with about $300 in her pocket, limited
English, and no network waiting for her on the other side.
What she did have was a quiet conviction that life could
be built differently, even if the path ahead was uncertain.

Like many immigrant stories, the early
years were not glamorous. They were
built on learning, adapting, and figuring
things out one step at a time. Over time
Olga became fascinated by something
that was just beginning to transform the
world — the emerging landscape of
digital marketing and online education.

In 2010, when the idea of virtual events
was still unfamiliar to most people, she
began organizing online conferences for
Russian-speaking audiences.
At the

time, this format barely existed in that
market. What started as an experiment
quickly grew into something much larger.

In 2010, when the idea of virtual events was still unfamiliar to most people, she began organizing online conferences for Russian-speaking audiences. At the time, this format barely existed in that market. What started as an experiment quickly grew into something much larger.

Through these conferences, Olga brought together entrepreneurs, educators, and thought leaders from different countries, creating spaces where ideas could travel across borders and languages. One of her early initiatives included introducing teachers from the film “The Secret” to Russian-speaking audiences through large-scale online conferences and digital programs produced in Russian.

Over the following years she built digital platforms, educational programs, and international communities that reached hundreds of thousands of participants. Thousands of entrepreneurs joined her programs and many launched their own businesses and projects as a result.

Around the same time, another project began
to grow in a completely different direction.

Together with her family, Olga helped create the Dream Big Podcast — a show designed to inspire children and families to believe in their dreams and develop the mindset to pursue them. What began as a heartfelt family project gradually turned into a global platform.

The podcast went on to reach listeners in countries around the world, surpassing three million downloads and featuring conversations with well-known voices including Kobe Bryant, Simon Sinek, Mel Robbins, Mark Cuban, Chris Hadfield, Gabby Bernstein, Bethany Hamilton, Jocko Willink, Vanessa Van Edwards, and many others.

From the outside, it looked like Olga had built a life many entrepreneurs aspire to: successful businesses, global projects, a growing audience, and meaningful collaborations.

But somewhere along the way,
the questions began to change.

After more than a decade in business, Olga made a decision that surprised many around her. She stepped away from the company she had built and allowed herself time to reconsider what mattered most — not just professionally, but personally.

The period that followed was quieter and more introspective. Many people might describe it as a dark night of the soul — a time of reflection, questioning, and letting go of identities that once felt permanent.

One experience made the metaphor especially clear.

While traveling in Venice, Olga and
her younger daughter Sophia
attended a traditional mask-making
workshop
. Sitting there, shaping a
mask with her hands, she realized
how naturally people construct
identities that help them function in
the world — and how easy it is to
forget what exists underneath them.

Sitting there, shaping a mask with her hands, she realized how naturally people construct identities that help them function in the world — and how easy it is to forget what exists underneath them.

That reflection eventually
became the foundation for a new platform.

Today Olga is the creator and host of UNMASKED, a podcast and media platform built around thoughtful, long-form conversations about truth, identity, shadow, and the deeper layers of the human experience.

Through these conversations she explores a simple but powerful idea: that real transformation rarely happens on the surface. It begins when we are willing to look more honestly at ourselves and at the stories we carry.

Her work is guided by an
observation she often
returns to:

Not everything that appears light is the truth.
Not everything that appears dark is evil.
And not everything is what it seems.
Because many of the forces that shape our lives — identity, belief, fear, courage — rarely live where we expect to find them.

And sometimes the most important step in a person’s life begins in the quiet moment when the mask finally falls away.

If these ideas resonate with you, explore the conversations on Unmasked — where guests and listeners are invited to look a little deeper beneath the surface.
